The Costs

An overview

A lawyer costs money. I address my costs openly, because trusting cooperation requires that there is also clarity about the costs. My almost completely undisputed invoices speak for themselves and the fairness of my settlement. Transparency starts with advice, which, together with you, is already clarified what options you have and whether further work as a lawyer makes sense.

After the initial consultation, you decide whether advice is sufficient for you or whether we should continue working for you. When placing an order, my costs are based on legal regulations. The object value, which normally corresponds to the amount of the claim (s) at issue, is then decisive.

You can calculate an indication of the attorneys' and court costs yourself, for example, by clicking on the following fee calculator button.

We will address cases in which the statutory fees do not result in an appropriate remuneration, and as a rule, we will agree with you an hourly fee of €250.00 plus VAT.

Initial consultation

The aim of the initial consultation is to give you an initial overview of your case in an interview of up to one hour and to inform you about the opportunities and risks of your case.

In an initial consultation, we will first determine the legally significant facts with you. The problem to be solved is then legally defined and you are given the necessary technical background information. Finally, we will discuss with you what measures should be taken, if any.

According to RVG (Lawyers' Fees Act), the costs for an initial consultation are €190, - plus VAT.

Statutory remuneration under the RVG

The statutory remuneration for lawyers is regulated in the RVG. The lawyer's fee is based on the value of the thing you entrust us with, the so-called amount in dispute. The RVG mandatorily requires that, in court proceedings, the statutory fee must not fall below a remuneration agreement (§ 4 RVG).

You can calculate the expected costs, for example, with DAV process cost calculator determine.

Time fee

If the remuneration under the RVG does not result in payment that would be appropriate in relation to the expected amount of work and consulting expenses, we usually suggest an hourly billing.

On request, you will receive a monthly statement for the time fee incurred as well as a breakdown of the content and scope of the activities performed for you.

This type of remuneration gives you the advantage of constant cost control and, compared to statutory remuneration, a high level of transparency. With your active assistance in identifying the facts, it is also possible to minimize the costs incurred.

In contrast to statutory remuneration, you can continuously control the costs incurred by providing timely information.
